According to the rumor mills, Apple's purported next smartphone, the iPhone 6 will come in two large screen sizes and could well be unveiled around June 2014. Several analysts too have speculated that Apple may introduce a bigger screen for iPhone 6. Recently chinese analyst Sun Chang Xu has claimed on the  chinese website QQtech that iPhone 6 will most likely have a 4.7 inches screen size with 1136x640 pixel display and also another flagship model offering a higher resolution with a 5.7 display. Another report by DisplaySearch indicates that Apple will likely introduce two large iPhones in 2014 to take on the phablets competition. According to DisplaySearch, while one of Apple’s flagship model might feature a 4.7” screen size with 1600x900, 386 ppi, The other flagship model of 5.5” screen size will launch with 1920x1080 resolution at 401 ppi. In yet another report, according to a report on BGR.com Several Foxconn insiders have revealed through the chinese blogging site Weibo that the production of new iPhone will be split into two models, one with 4.7” screen and a 5.7” screen.  Citing Foxconn executives, the post says that the two models will feature biometric technology too. Late last September, The WSJ reporter Ian Sherr, reported that Apple may even be testing screens as large as six inches.

Another recent update has been through the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, which claimed that the next iPhone will have sapphire glass with solar power panels. Even Matt Margolis of Seeking Alpha, who has been closely following Apple’s acquisition and patents rather closely is of the view that Apple will likely have Sapphire Glass displays with inscribed solar panels.  While it is still a speculation, There are chances that it may be a reality, considering that Apple had filed a patent in February 2013 for integrating touch sensors and solar panels. Similarly Apple also filed another patent in October 2013 for new solar touch screen patent. Adding further credence to the claim is the fact that an Apple has ventured in a partnership with GT Advanced technologies to open a Sapphire materials facility in Mesa, AZ. Recently in an interview with ABC news channel, Tim Cook too confirmed that the Arizona facility is indeed for manufacturing Sapphire glass. Moreover according to recent reports the Sapphire Glass manufacturing facility is on a hiring spree.

Recently Apple CEO Tim Cook during the launch of iPhone on China mobile said " We have great things we are working on, but we want to keep them a secret, That way you will be so much happier when you see it."According to another report by chinese technology website Digitimes, The production for A8 processor expected to power the next generation on iPhone too has been ramped up. According to the industry sources, the A8 processor will be a package-on-package (PoP) SoC solution comprising processors and mobile DRAM in a single package.

With phablets, a rage across the global markets, and  a definite market for large screen smartphones, Everyone seems to agree that iPhone 6 will have a larger screen than any other iPhone launched earlier. Moreover, apart from being packed with many pathbreaking technologies, iPhone 6 is expected to be bigger, slimmer and faster. It is most likely to be housed in Liquidmetal casing with Sapphire Glass display  and a powerful 64-Bit A8 processor.
